Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Sudbury executive director has a side gig… face painting. She asked me if I’d work on her materials for it. Logo. Core image. Tent and flag. The core image is her granddaughter, but the original photo I had to work with was low resolution, and simply felt like a personal snapshot, so I worked it to render the lack of resolution irrelevant, but more importantly, to render the child down to more of an abstract, where she’s still there, but the face painting itself actually becomes more the focus. The logo was more of a challenge being a phrase and not a concise word or two, but she was happy with it.
