Screenwriting Posters and Concept Art

Many years ago I wrote a bonkers screenplay about deep sea miners, aliens monsters and revenge. I poured a lot of time into doing some illustrations for it, and learning about “concept art” before acknowledging that it was just a budget-buster that’d never get made. But it was fun at the time.

So these were a mix of hand drawn illustration on my Wacom Cintiq tablet, and 3D models in Sketchup, and real photography used as textures. I’m not a purist, and don’t consider myself a strict illustrator… it was all about telling my story visually.

This is just some of the concept art I created for my aborted graphic novel. As it turns out, working a full time job, and writing screenplays, and illustrating… well, it was a bit more than I could sustain. But I do have a lot of great memories of bringing this story to life visually.

CARLINGWOOD

This goes way back. Before I had a Wacom tablet, I was using mouse and keyboard to generate my images, weaving in photography, relying on silhouettes to tell stories. It all added to my excitement of working on my paranoid, wintery, military UFO coverup thriller.
