I was supposed to stop drawing Star Wars when the movie came out… But I actually stopped a few weeks early. Eyes getting sore and all… took a break. Never actually finished the Han at Cloud City I was working on. After blowing through my entire week off and not doing anything remotely productive, I decided Friday night to do a drawing of Rey from the new movie. I’d only been drawing from the original trilogy… but she’s got such a distinctive look that I wanted to see if I could capture it.
Still a work in progress, clearly. Trying to capture the essence of the character, and the actress playing her, is proving to be a challenge. But, no matter… it’s not supposed to be easy.
